Will I Have A Friend

I borrowed this book from the library two weeks ago. As soon as Alvin read it to Liam, he fell in love with the book.

Maybe because he saw himself in the main character.

Liam wanted to keep the book.

I told him he can't keep it because we had to return it to the library.

He got sad but didn't act up. He followed me.

He realy wanted the book.

And since the story was about a boy who was about to go to the big school, I decided to buy one for him.

I placed the order last week, and today, on the last day of his Kindy transition, the book was delivered.

I call it perfect timing :)

I reccommend this book to parents whose kids might be going to the big school or a new school. It somewhat verbalizes one of their fear and reassures them that they will find friends in school.

I hope that through this book, he will continue with his blossoming relationship with reading :

My Blog to A Book

February of last year, I remember writing my plans of printing my blogs to a book, so just in case something happens with my account with blogger, I already (and still) have a copy of everything I have written. Like some projects, it was one of those to-dos which is the first to go when a more urgent matter arises. I kept on postponing it until last week. I finally pushed myself to doing it, especially after a friend, qtbelle, had an incident with blogger. The horror stories I have heard before came back to me and I shared it with hubby. He was actually surprised that I haven't done it yet. So hubby was actually the one who reminded me and pushed me to do it.

I re-read some of my past blogs every now and then and I just can't imagine the horror and the anguish I will be feeling when one day I wake up and realize everything is gone! So before that day even comes and that event happens, I played it safe!

Now, I have a copy of everything I have written! Yipee!

Reading them all now, gives me a certain thrill and excitement and awe! Still can't believe I have written sooo much already. Sometimes I can't believe and I still need some convincing that I was the one who actually wrote all of it! LOL :)

Writing has been very helpful for me. It has been my friend and my outlet. It helped me in my adjustment here in Sydney and it continues to help me. It is my avenue for sharing what I'm going through, an avenue to share my blessings, adventures and misadventures.

I am just glad I did it, before it was too late :)

Back to Reading

Now that I am done with my schooling, I can now go back and get to read books, not because I have to, but because I want to.

Thanks to good libraries I got to borrow some good books today.

But I'm starting off with this:

There are three books lined up after this: Mao's Last Dance, How to Improve Your Grammar and Ten Years After: Sweet Valley High Confidential. I decided to just borrow instead of buying myself a copy. It will be additional savings and less clutter at home. :D

I'm taking a break from parenting books as recently, I have been reading a lot and they are already confusing me :D But that will be another blog entry. As for now, I'm back to one of my favorite hobbies, I'm back to reading :D

My Newest Reading Adventure

Just like writing, I have a love affair with reading. For me, spending an hour or so inside a bookstore is one relaxing activity. Browsing through the piles and hundreds of books in front of me and end up choosing the right book is one big adventure for me!

I am particularly happy that bookstores have always tried to attract buyers by offering sales or discounts. Here in Sydney, I was so happy when I got to purchase a book, a DVD and a instructional set for my son, for only $5 each!

The last book that I finished reading was "Have A Little Faith" by Mitch Albom. I am a fan of Mitch Albom, I think I am close to completing collecting all of his books. I was glad that he went back to writing non-fiction this time after having a couple of books after the hit Tuesdays with Morrie.I deliberately did not finish the book in one sitting. I knew that while I was reading chapter by chapter, I would come across a lot of things that I could reflect upon. And true enough it almost took me four months to finish reading it. But I am happy. Because he didn't disappoint me.

There were a lot of things that you can ponder on the life of the two main characters. I even found myself crying when it came to the part where he had to deliver his eulogy already. Don't worry, I won't spoil it for you. But I would recommend the book to anyone.

Maybe in my next blog, I can share with you some of the points that made an impact on me. As for now, I have started with another reading adventure, this time, it deals with happiness.

As soon as I'm done with it, you will definitely hear from me.
